Good
Evening and Welcome to The Canaan Colonial Theatre

The
Canaan Colonial Theatre opened its doors on February 7, 1923, with the
movie
“To have and to hold” starring Betty Campton, Bert Lytel and Raymond
Hatton.
The original builders and owners sold the building to the
Boscardin Family in 1929 and
the family continued to run the business as a movie theatre, a dance
hall, a venue for events,
and for many years operated bowling lanes in the basement.
After 74 years of continuous operation, they closed the doors in
January of 1997.
The theatre remained vacant until purchased by Mr. David J. Ohler.
The restoration process of this historic building began in 2003
and was completed in the Fall of 2005.
The Colonial Theatre has been
a local favorite for generations and
Thanks to many efforts of the owner and the investors,
The Colonial Theatre is open once again and will continue to be a source
of entertainment
for both local residents and visitors to the area.
